She's Gone

As mentioned at the beginning of this section I sold the Rebel and the Pantheon.

Do I have any regrets? No not really not over the Rebel anyway.  But the Pantheon -some! When the guy came to take her away I felt really sad, she was everything that I could want on 2 wheels. Fast, comfortable, economical, fantastic looks and practical.

But she had to go, I had to shunt her around from place to place following the break in at my garage. Not running her wasn't good, she always started, even when she'd been left untouched for 2 or 3 months. I knew if I kept and used her the idiots would be back.

When I placed the first small ad a foreign guy called wanting to see her. I made arrangements for that weekend. He turned up, knew absolutely nothing about bikes let alone Pantheons, he looked her over, asked if I'd take £1000 - she was on the market for £1395, I laughed and said no.... She sold on the second advert I put in the local free ads. It was disappointing to see her go to a trader who would slap a fat margin on her price. I would have like to see her go to someone who would lover her as much as I had. In the time I had her she had just 2 new tyres - the back one was getting there but I changed the front one so they would be matched and also spark plug! I bought some pads for the front caliper but they weren't needed. She'd done just under 6000 miles. Who knows in the future I may have another if I can find one.
