GRAPHICS CARD - The Radeon is my latest addition, I really didn't want to spend such an amount of money on a graphics card and initially I didn't. My previous card had been a Creative GeForce 2 Ti that I'd picked up for £60 as a clearance item from PC world, it was a good card but is now very outdated and too slow for the native resolution of the Samsung TFT. During a visit to the computer fair I found a local supplier that was selling off a Radeon 9500 128 MB card for just £69, having read such great things about this cards ability I snapped it up having already searched everywhere I could think of, however it didn't work but the second one did. But to my disappointment it was fast enough for what I wanted, I managed to get my money back and started looking around for a 'cheap' Radeon 9700. I found just what I was looking for in the 'blowout' section of Ebuyer, a second hand 9700 Ultra for £210. It's a great card and plays all my current games with top quality settings with no slow downs. |
